Sipchem concludes the acquisition of Ikarus Petroleum's 11% stake in IAC and IVAC for SAR375.3 million

Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the 11% stake owned by Ikarus Petroleum Industries in the International Acetyl Company (IAC) and International Vinyl Acetate Company (IVAC) for a total value of SAR375.3 million. According to the announcement, the deal will be reflected on the company's 1Q2016 financial results and has raised Sipchem's stake in both IAC and IVAC to 87%. It is worth noting that IAC produces c460,000 tonnes per year (tpy) of acetic acid and IVAC produces 330,000tpy of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM).
