Al Maha Airways reevaluates launching Saudi operation
Al Maha Airways, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways, is reevaluating its decision to enter the Saudi market, after it had closed its offices in Saudi and laid off the employees, according to President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Sulaiman Al Hamdan, as quoted by Madina newspaper. Hamdan added that GACA’s board had no influence on the delay in the company’s start of operations in Saudi Arabia; however, Al Maha’s licence to operate in the Kingdom, which it had obtained through an international auction in 2012, is still valid. Qatar Airways’ top management has revealed at a meeting held a few weeks ago their interest in joining the Saudi market, Hamdan added. (Argaam)
