Marka moves into ecommerce space through deal with Souq.com
Marka (MARKA.DU) has inked a partnership deal with leading Middle East online retail platform Souq.com as its first homegrown ecommerce venture. Initially, Marka will sell its sportswear brands through the website (started on 29 March 2016) and will eventually move to other fashion labels. Marka has recently made a number of announcements including board approval for an AED250 million bond sale to finance future acquisitions as well as its first expansion into Qatar planned for later this year in addition to widening its Cheeky Monkeys Playland & Sweet Surprises presence in Saudi Arabia.
